As we expand our presence in the Northern Cape, we are bringing the DA difference to more and more residents across the province.
- To root out corruption, the DA opened a criminal case against the Kai !Garib municipal manager for pension fund crimes in the province, he is now facing criminal charges.
- To protect residents, the DA coalition fought the exorbitant 300% water tariff increases in the the ANC-led Gamagara municipality, bringing the increase down to only 4,8%.
- To help already financially strained businesses, the DA coalition took on unmanageable property rates increases of 28% in the ANC-led Emthanjeni municipality, and negotiated them down to 6.1%.
- After a fatal incident in Vooruitsig Street in Upington, the DA went on a mission to ensure safer roads. The ANC-led Dawid Kruiper municipality heeded to the pressure and erected speed bumps to avoid further accidents.
- The new Gamagara DA mayor declined the offer of a taxpayer-funded car and house, she will instead be using that money towards improving service delivery in the municipality.
